Alnaar Clayton has managed Mowbray Gardens Library since 2013. Before that she held a variety of other roles over 17 years with Rotherham MBC, including community outreach worker with responsibility for asylum seekers and refugees; and working to engage the local Asian communities. This made good use of her ability to speak six languages. Alnaar was awarded the Athena Award in 2013 for her ground breaking work with local communities in Rotherham.
