Julie has been with RNIB Library since October 2014 and has a long history of working in public libraries. Starting out as a Library Assistant in Sunderland in 1982, her last public library role was as Reference Services and Systems Manager with Gateshead Council. In between, she was Knowledge Manager for a training company and Consultation Officer for Gateshead and Northampton Borough Councils. In her precious spare time, Julie is a keen reader and silversmith.
RNIB’s Talking Books service was originally launched in 1935 to help soldiers blinded in the war.
