Lena Smith has been the Reader Development Officer for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham since 2014 after joining the library as a Library Assistant in 2005. Lena was part of the team selected to open the flagship Dagenham Library in 2010, which has since gone on to win the British Book industry Library of the Year in 2016 and is now based in Barking Learning Centre which has been shortlisted for the Book Industry Awards Library of the Year 2017. As part of her role she organises the LBBD Pen to Print Project.
